Robust Process Improvement

The training introduces a systematic procedure, using AutoForm-Sigma, for part and tool development, as well as the process design, through the analysis of the influence and sensitivity of design parameters on the forming results.

  • Definition of design parameters such as part radius, addendum, drawbeads, blank shape, binder force, etc.
  • Issue-based evaluation and analysis of the results for the improvement of the forming process

The second part of the training will focus on robustness. The analysis of uncontrollable process parameters provides information on the robustness of the process.

  • Definition of scattering parameters such as material properties, friction, binder force and blank insertion position
  • Analysis and evaluation of the process robustness with respect to the compliance with required quality targets, such as robust springback, the absence of cracks, wrinkles, skid lines etc.

In the third part of the training, the combination, in an AutoForm-Sigma analysis, of these two approaches will be introduced to you, providing an analysis of the influence of the modification of design parameters on the process robustness.

Audience

This three-day course is recommended for part designers, feasibility engineers, die designers and tool makers. Experience with AutoForm-Explorer and AutoForm-DieDesigner is required.
